Rutter’s annual golf outing benefits local charities.
Rutter’s annual golf outing, held last Monday and Tuesday, was the 16th annual golf event held by Rutter’s Children’s Charities. It raised over $210,000 for central Pennsylvania charities.
Since its beginning in 2002, the two-day golf outing has raised over $1.89 million for children’s charities in Central Pennsylvania. This year’s outing was held at the Out Door Country Club of York and featured several of Rutter’s key suppliers, executives and family members. The outing will fund $100,000 for the 2018 Rutter’s Vote with Your Dollars and Rutters Rewards Schools programs.
2017’s recipients of the Vote With Your Dollars program was Make-A-Wish Greater PA & WV, Leg Up Farm, and Adams County SPCA. The Rutters Rewards Schools and Vote with Your Dollars programs enable customers to login to their Rutter’s Rewards accounts to choose from a list of charities and schools they wish to support. Every dollar spent at the pumps or inside any Rutter’s store with a registered Rutter’s Rewards card counts as a vote towards the customers’ selected charitable organization.
“We enjoy our annual golf outing and support from strategic supplier partners to help raise money for Rutter’s Children’s Charities each year. This enables us to fund key local nonprofit organizations and schools that focus on improving lives of children and families in communities we serve. That is truly what Rutter’s Children’s Charities is all about,” said Scott Hartman, Rutter’s CEO and president.
In the past decade, Rutter’s Children’s Charities has donated over $6.2 million to support charities in the local communities it serves. Now under the third generation of family leadership, Rutter’s operates 69 convenience stores throughout Central Pennsylvania and a beverage company serving the Mid-Atlantic region with Scott Hartman as President and CEO, Todd Rutter as President of Rutter’s Beverage company, and Tim Rutter as President of M&G Realty.
