ACE Congratulates Petro Serve USA on New Facility

Petro Serve continues offering ethanol blends to customers via new locations, creating more access to E15.

The American Coalition for Ethanol (ACE) Senior Vice President Ron Lamberty spoke at Petro Serve USA’s grand opening of its facility in Valley City, N.D. to congratulate the company and CEO Kent Satrang on offering more consumers E15 and higher ethanol blends.

“Petro Serve has been offering ethanol blends to their customers for a long time now, and they keep adding more stations like this one because it works — they’ve found success providing drivers with access to low cost, high octane ethanol fuel blends,” Lamberty said. “ACE congratulates Petro Serve and Kent for being leaders in ethanol retailing and for sharing what they know with other retailers to help expand the availability of ethanol blends nationwide.”

Petro Serve’s new facility offers E15, E30 and E85 at 16 fueling points and is Petro Serve’s 20th station to offer E15 in North Dakota, its second location in Valley City.

“We like to give our customers the ability to make their own choice at the gas pump based upon their vehicle’s economics, air quality, and lessoning their dependence on foreign oil,” Satrang said. “When competitors do not offer fuel choice, customers buy their ethanol from us to save money, and they also purchase their snacks and deli from our stores too. We look forward to offering E15 and other mid-grade ethanol blends at the new Valley City location.”

“More retailers like Kent are offering E15 and there are a significant number of drivers using the fuel across the country and saving money as gas prices continue to rise,” Lamberty added. “Meanwhile, a senseless E15 Reid vapor pressure (RVP) roadblock remains in place, threatening E15 availability during the summer driving season. Gas prices are expected to reach $3 this summer, and we need EPA to take action immediately to fulfill the President’s promise to allow the use of E15 year-round to help drivers save money this summer.”

To kick off the summer driving season, the event offered E15 for just 15 cents at Petro Serve’s new location at 1020 8th Ave. SW in Valley City.

Lamberty joined Satrang and a handful of other speakers during a 10 a.m. news conference, including former Governor Jack Dalrymple; City Mayor Dave Carlsrud; Kevin Skunes of the National Corn Growers Association; Jeff Zueger of Midwest Ag Energy Group and chairman of the North Dakota Ethanol Council; and Dale Ihry of the North Dakota Corn Utilization Council. Jason Strand, North Dakota farmer and owner of E85 Racing, also had his ethanol-powered racecar on location and visited with consumers on the benefits of ethanol.
