Rhode Island chain set to expand its Massachusetts footprint.
Seasons Corner Market continues to make waves in and around the Ocean State.
Based in Cranston, R.I., Seasons is currently constructing a new store on Route 134 in the town of Dennis at the site of a former Shell gas station, according to CapeCod.com.
Dennis Town Planner Dan Fortier said the store was permitted last fall and will include a new building, fuel pumps and sidewalk improvements. Seasons will compete with Cumberland Farms, one the largest convenience store operators in the area.
Outside of Cape Cod, the next closest c-stores are generally found in the cities of Plymouth and Rochester.
Colbea Enterprise owns, operates and supplies Shell-branded products throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts through a network of more than 110 company-operated sites, dealer sites and open-dealer sites. Colbea is a joint venture between Motiva Enterprises LLC and East Side Enterprises LLC.
From then, the company grew with additional locations, creating the Seasons brand in 2012. There are currently at least 30 store locations in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

The company is also wrapping up touches on a new store at 579 Metacom Ave. in Bristol, R.I. is currently scheduled to open in mid-June. Bristol The new location will offer premium Green Mountain coffee, Nicole’s Gourmet fresh prepared foods from Pranzi Catering, f’real smoothies, Pepsi Spire fountain drink machine, Ball Park Hot Dogs, fresh fruit and other offerings.
The new sites tend to allow for additional SKUs and unique products—often found in higher-end markets. Seasons has strived to create an environment in which customers would feel comfortable spending extra time shopping. In addition, the interior of the prototype c-stores were custom designed to include rustic wooden floors, a bright color scheme for the interior walls and specialty tile that lines the modern bathrooms.
