National Ice Cream Day gives retailers a chance to showcase their ice cream and frozen yogurt products.
July 15 is also known as National Ice Cream Day, where retailers from Dairy Queen to PetSmart entice customers with promotions and freebies surrounding ice cream. A few convenience stores got into the mix this year, offering ice cream day/week promotions, while others have ice cream deals going all month long.
Cumberland Farms is celebrating by offering customers $1 off any of the brand’s Ultimate Scoops Ice Cream flavors for a price of $3.99/pint versus the regular price of $4.99/pint.
Starting at 8 a.m. on July 15, customers can text the word “SCOOPS” to 64827 to receive $1 off any pint of Ultimate Scoops at any of Cumberland Farms nearly 600 retail locations across the Northeast and Florida. Ultimate Scoops come in a variety of flavors, ranging from Doughlicious Cookie Dough to Peanut Butter Persuasion, as well as the brand’s latest addition, Blissful Breakfast Club, which is a combination of maple flavored creamy ice cream and fruity swirls of blueberry layered with chunks of Belgian Waffle.
goPuff, “America’s favorite convenience store on wheels,” is celebrating by giving away free pints of ice cream and offering some sweets & snacks bundle deals leading up to July 15. All week through Sunday July 15 goPuff counted down the days to National Ice Cream Day by giving away free ice cream pints every day through its Instagram account. To enter customers needed to follow goPuff’s Instagram page, like the posts and tag some friends.
Ice Cream Day bundle deals ranged in price from $13.75 to $22.25. For example, the “Fish, Don’t Kill my Vibe (Fish Food)” package, retailing for $13.75 included Phish Food Ben & Jerry’s, Peanut Butter Cup Ben & Jerry’s, Swedish Fish and Goldfish. goPuff, which doesn’t have a physical location, brings the products direct to customers’ doors.
Atlanta-based RaceTrac Petroleum, through July 31, is offering a free cup of ice cream for kids at locations with its Swirl World program. Adults can get a 16-ounce cup for $3.
York, Pa.-based Rutter’s VIP Rewards members can get two f’real milkshakes for $5 this July.
