C-store operators looking to grow their foodservice offering with barbecue now have a new option. C-Store New, a division of MEZ Enterprises Inc., is adding RowdyDow bbQ Worldwide to its convenience store portfolio.
For Angela Keaveny, founder of ROWDYDOW bbQ, the idea to start her own company or “rowdydow” moment came like a lightning bolt from above and grew into a “seven-year overnight” success. Since the moment she was inspired to share her Dad’s infamously delicious BBQ with the rest of the BBQ lovin’ world, it’s been a true journey of entrepreneurship and that “pinch yourself” kind of dream come true every step of the way.
ROWDYDOW’s roots began two generations ago in Virginia where Keaveny grew up eating the BBQ her Dad loved making and friends always asked for. Then, 2007, after a move to Chicago, with only inspiration in her head and a handwritten recipe in her hand, she quickly found herself in the BBQ “meat” business by staying true to her Dad’s recipe. This meant, it wasn’t just about his secret rub or the sweet vinegar barbeque sauce, she had to figure out the right way to have those port butts smoked, too – just like the perfect way he did for a delicious bite every time.
“After a successful 10-year company launch, it is time to introduce this goodness into the convenience store channel,” said Keaveny. “I’m excited to share our bbQ lineup with c-store brands looking to create special offerings for their customers.”
