Grant to help USO centers to aid in providing resources and support to the military community.
The Wawa Foundation is providing a grant for $25,000 to the United Services Organization (USO).
The funds will go directly to the USO locations based throughout Wawa’s operating area and will support the food programming for members of the United States Coast Guard (USCG) and their families. Nationally partnering with the USO and supporting their USCG chapters located in Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia and the District of Columbia is just one of the many ways Wawa and The Wawa Foundation show support and thanks for the great men and women who serve our country.
“At Wawa, supporting our military is part of our DNA and that’s why The Wawa Foundation is so honored to nationally partner with the USO as a way to thank our troops and give something back to the dedicated men and women who protect our freedom,” said Jay Culotta, president of The Wawa Foundation. “We are so proud this grant will go towards ensuring the USO centers can respond to requests from our military community and to keep their food pantries stocked with essential food and drink items.”
“Our USO centers are more than buildings, they are community centers,” said Chad Hartman, USO vice president of development. “In times of need, our men and women in uniform and their families need to feel that community rally around them. The generous funds from partners like The Wawa Foundation help our local USO centers and teams jump into action to offer resources and support that help build morale and keep our military community strong.”
