7-Eleven is giving $7,111 to the college fund of a baby born on July 11 at 7:11 p.m. weighing seven pounds, 11 ounces.
A 7-Eleven representative told CNN that the company pledged the money for J’Aime Brown’s college fund, as well as onesies, diapers and other gifts.
“I was completely shocked,” mother Rachel Langford told CNN. “I kind of just freaked out.”
In addition to J’Aime, Langford has a six-year-old son. She says it’s not easy juggling bills and providing for her children.
“It’s hard for anybody to even get a trust fund for their children,” she said. “To get a blessing like that, it just helps a lot.”
Based in Irving, Texas, 7‑Eleven operates, franchises and/or licenses more than 68,000 stores in 17 countries, including 11,800 in North America.
On July 11, 7-Eleven celebrates its annual 7-Eleven Day by offering free Slurpee drinks and other promotions. The company estimated that participating U.S. stores would give away 9 million free small Slurpee drinks.
