NAG members have from March 5 to May 5 to fill out their application.

As the cost of tuition continues to increase at universities across the country, many college students can feel overwhelmed with the financial burden. In an effort to partially ease that burden, the National Advisory Group (NAG) developed an annual scholarship fund specifically for employees of NAG member companies and their children.

The NAG scholarship program is a memorial fund to immortalize those who have gone before us with the mission to grow the future of convenience.

When appropriate, NAG names the memorial scholarship program to honor an industry leader who has recently passed. Each named scholarship honors someone who made a significant and lasting impact on the industry and embodied the leadership acumen required to enrich the lives of their team. This year’s scholarship is dedicated to Charley Jones, the late owner of Stinker Stores, a 105-store chain, headquartered in Boise, Idaho.

“Charley was absolutely one in a million. His unrivaled business savvy combined with his generous and giving heart made him the Hero of Stinker’s last 20-plus years and an absolutely amazing visionary to work under,” said Nate Brazier, current Stinker President and CEO. “He is, and always will be, the greatest Stinker of all.”

The Charley Jones Memorial Scholarship program will offer up to five students the opportunity to be gifted $1,000 towards their education. The awards will be provided to benefit the 2025-26 school year.

Applicants must be the employee (or dependent child of an employee) working for a NAG retail member company. The application window will open March 5, and applications must be complete by May 5.

The NAG Scholarship Fund is managed by the NAG Board of Directors and Scholarship America and funded by the retailer and supplier members of NAG. The program was started in the late 1990s and has distributed more than 125 scholarships totaling nearly $125,000 to deserving students.
