The unexpected passing of Jim Hunt leaves many with heavy hearts.
On Jan. 3, 2016, James “Jim” Stocker Hunt passed away unexpectedly, after a full life serving God, his family and community. Hunt , a lifelong and avid outdoorsman, passed while working outside—an activity he loved—at his home in Lexington, Ky.
Alongside his three brothers, Hunt helped grow a local, family-operated pizza business in the 1970s into Hunt Brothers Pizza, which is today an international pizza company still focused on real family values and based in faith. For nearly the past 40 years, Hunt was the founder of Pizza Wholesale of Lexington Inc., a wholesale food distribution company now serving over 3,000 customers in 16 states. Throughout his career, his core business principles remained placing God first in all decisions, investing in people and duplicating the best qualities in them.
“It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Dad,” said Erin Hunt Ferguson, co-CEO of Pizza Wholesale of Lexington Inc. and the daughter of Jim Hunt. “But we know that he lived a great, fulfilling life as a loving husband, father and friend; a successful businessman; a published author; a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps and a worldwide traveler. But most importantly, Jim lived his life as a true man of God, proudly sharing the love of Christ with anyone blessed with meeting him.”
