Celebrates National and International Coffee Days with dispensed beverage coupon.

In celebration of National Coffee Day on Sept. 29 and International Coffee Day on Oct. 1, 7-Eleven is providing 7Rewards members with a free any-size cup of coffee.

To receive a FREE any-size cup of coffee, customers simply present the 7Rewards bar code located in the 7Rewards smartphone app and scan it at the register. The National Coffee Day offer is good for one any-size cup of coffee and is redeemable one time between 12:01 a.m. local time Friday, Sept. 29, through 11:59 p.m. local time Sunday, Oct. 1. If not used, the coupon will expire on Sunday, Oct.1 at 11:59 p.m. local time.

All hot beverage cup sizes are eligible during the promotion.

“At 7-Eleven, we celebrate coffee every day. It’s our No. 1-selling beverage because of the great quality and value 7-Eleven offers,” said Laura Gordon, 7-Eleven vice president of marketing and brand innovation. “We look forward to giving hot beverage-lovers the chance to enjoy a free cup of coffee this coffee holiday weekend.”

On all other days of the year, 7-Eleven proprietary beverages sold in a cup qualify for 7Rewards, 7-Eleven’s customer loyalty program. Through the 7Rewards mobile app, customers earn a free any-size drink after the purchase of six beverages such as coffee, 7-Eleven Big Gulp fountain drinks and Slurpee semi-frozen drinks. The 7-Eleven app is available for download in Google Play and the App store.

“7-Eleven has one of the most generous offers around,” said Gurmeet Singh, 7-Eleven chief digital officer. “The program is simple to understand, and our newly redesigned app makes it even easier to count down to the next free drink.”

7-Eleven also recently debuted its Pillsbury Stuffed Waffle combining three popular morning foods – waffles, sausage and eggs – into one flavorful, handheld breakfast that is easy to eat for hungry – and busy – people on the go. Customers are encouraged to share their favorite breakfast-and-coffee pairings on social media tagging @7eleven.

“National Coffee Day is a great time to try new flavor combinations or limited-time flavors like Pumpkin Spice,” said Gordon. “Members can use the offer to try a different hot beverage other than their usual go-to, whether it’s an exclusive, single-origin coffee, a new cappuccino flavor or to experiment with all the flavored creamers and syrups available at no additional cost.”

7-Eleven was the first retailer to offer hot coffee in to-go cups. Long Island stores began selling to-go coffee in 1964. By the late 1960s, customers at all U.S. 7-Eleven stores were running in to grab a cup of coffee to go.
