Kevin Elliot takes on responsibilities in merchandising, fresh foods and logistics.

7-Eleven Inc. has named Kevin Elliott as senior vice president for merchandising and logistics. He will report to Masa Asakura, the company’s executive vice present and chief operating officer.

Elliott has 19 years of experience in merchandising, inventory management, supply chain, logistics and procurement. He assumes responsibility for the company’s category management, fresh foods and logistics, including its network of 24 combined distribution centers in North America.

The 41-year-old most recently served for three years as 7-Eleven’s vice president of merchandising for non-foods, beverages, services and processed foods. He joined 7-Eleven in 2001 as director of wholesale operation and served the company in category management and procurement roles.

“Kevin brings extensive experience in merchandising and logistics that will help achieve our goals of expanding our fresh foods program and offering a compelling assortment of products to meet consumers’ ever-changing needs,” said Asakura. “Getting the right product assortment at each 7-Eleven store is what differentiates 7-Eleven in the convenience retail industry. Merchandising and logistics play a critical role in satisfying our customers and supporting store operations.”

“Kevin’s solid skills, leadership and enthusiasm for 7-Eleven’s business will enhance the alignment among the disciplines reporting to him and ultimately better serve the customer,” said Joe DePinto, 7-Eleven president and CEO.
