Two retail network security companies combine to form new cybersecurity consulting firm in New York.

Two computer consulting firms focused on network security have merged, leaders said, which will give them more manpower to protect retailers and consumers against the growing threat of data breaches.

Ann Arbor Networks and Bluetrain Computers, joined together and will now be called A2 CyberSecurity LLC. The new company is based in Stony Point N.Y.

According to the company spokesperson, Louis Powers, the two companies have worked together for years and this corporate merger will enable A2 Cybersecurity to focus expansion into city, while continuing to service existing clients.

The combined firm will provide computer network consulting and cybersecurity consulting to small and mid-sized retail, financial and government institutions in the Northeast. The new firm has gained new clients due to recent New York regulations.

A2 Cybersecurity employs former staff from leading network security companies, Barracuda Networks and Alienvault Inc. The staff at A2 Cybersecurity seem confident their cost effective prices and inside knowledge puts them at an advantage over competition.

“Since we deploy open-source cybersecurity solutions, our price-point makes us a lot more attractive to clients that need to meet the new regulations,” Powers said. “Honestly, a lot of the competing cybersecurity firms in New York don’t have a clue about the open-source technologies available, this gives us a huge leg up.”
