We have to be a part of the solution so the area and the residents can return to normal,” says Atlas CEO.

Atlas Oil is sending additional trucks and fuel as the demand for fuel is accelerating in the New Jersey area following the wrath of Hurricane Sandy.

In addition, because lodging in the area is scarce, Atlas is sending RV vehicles to house its drivers and operations personnel during the relief period, which could extend for several weeks. Atlas is partnering with FEMA’s emergency fuel contractors to get the fuel where it is needed most to restore the area’s infrastructure.

“This is about helping people in need,” said Sam Simon, CEO and Owner, Atlas Oil Co.  “We can’t just watch the news coverage of the devastation from this massive storm—we have to be a part of the solution so the area and the residents can return to normal.   I am so pleased that our drivers and other team members have stepped up to this challenge.”

Atlas Oil’s Emergency Services division has built a reputation of responding to emergencies such as power outages caused by storms.  The company frequently fills generators for hospitals, data centers and other mission critical companies.

With 24/7/365 operations, Atlas meets the fuel and service needs of businesses, municipalities and government agencies in 19 states. Atlas also supplies fuel to nearly 400 gasoline convenience stores throughout Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.
