Ranks 2,920 overall and 65th in energy industry.

Taylor, Mich.-based Atlas Oil Co. is among the fastest growing private companies in the nation for the third year running. Inc. Magazine just published its fifth annual Inc. 5000 list, and Atlas increased its position by 1,226 spots to 2,920 overall.

Within the energy industry, Atlas ranks 65, and in Michigan, where Atlas is headquartered, the company is ranked No. 41.

In a stagnant economic environment, the median growth rate of 2011 Inc. 500|5000 companies remains an impressive 94%. The companies on this year’s list report having created 350,000 jobs in the past three years, and aggregate revenue among the honorees reached $366 billion, up 14% from last year.
