A fuel distributor’s financial problems have temporarily shut down at least two area gas stations and is still causing credit card problems at others.
The Prairie Village Shell station and the Overland Park Grab-N-Go convenience store are temporarily closed due to the recent Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization by Crescent Oil Co. Inc, according to The Kansas City (Mo.) Star.
The Independence, Kan.-based company has hired a national financial advisor that works with troubled firms and is seeking to break its leases and sell locations.
It supplies 340 stations in six states, including dozens of stations in the Kansas City area, including some selling Conoco, Phillips 66, Shell and Valero.
