Hill said he’s disappointed that the actions of some in the industry might have put kids at risk — and jeopardized the choice for adults.

Vaping brand blu released a video statement by CEO Richard Hill in response to recent U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) news about underage vaping.

Hill said that, since 2009, blu has been on a mission to create something better for adult smokers. 2019 marks the 10th year of innovating, researching and listening to what adult smokers and vapers want.

“It comes down to a few great things: a great product, a great flavor experience, the right to make an adult choice with blu, availability when and where you want it and your own determination to make that tough switch from smoking,” said Hill.

Hill said he’s disappointed in the news showing an increase in youth vaping and is disappointed that the actions of some in the industry may have put kids at risk — and jeopardized the choice for adults. He also said blu shared its company standards in detail with the FDA in a meeting in October 2018.

“We’re in total agreement with the FDA. No kids should be vaping products, flavored or not. Our mission to create something better for adult smokers has never changed,” said Hill. “We’ll keep you up to date as we continue to protect your right to choose a better alternative.”
