About one month after launching its revolutionary new beverage, BooKoo Burner+, Boo Koo Holdings Inc. said the new drink is now being sold in more than 1,000 convenience stores throughout Nashville, Tenn.; Mobile, Ala.; Panama City, Fla.; Dallas, Texas; and other surrounding markets.

BooKoo Burner+ is an innovation of sorts in the energy drink category, as it’s among the first to add protein with the typical energy drink ingredients such as taurine, ginseng, caffeine and B vitamins.

It’s a non-carbonated energy drink with 20 grams of whey protein and it contains no sugar and only two carbohydrates.

"We are pleased that in the short time since its launch that we have seen such a strong response from convenience stores and retailers," said Jack Belsito, chairman of Boo Koo Holdings. "BooKoo Burner+ has set itself apart from other energy drinks as it provides both energy and protein in a unique, great tasting beverage."

BooKoo Burner+ is being offered in three flavors; Dangerine (a great-tasting raspberry flavor with a blend of tangerine); Pummelgranite (pomegranate blended with blackberry); and Main Lime (smooth, refreshing lime flavor and pure balance of sweetness and tartness).

All flavors are available in 16-ounce cans.

Boo Koo also recently announced plans to change its name to Performing Brands Inc., a decision that is expected to be approved by shareholders at the Aug. 8 shareholder meeting.

The company manufactures Circle K’s proprietary energy drink, GazZu Energy, as well as the 2-ounce energy GazZu Shooter.
