When Burt Holmes saw a thriving 7-Eleven in Dallas in 1957, he brought the idea of small grocery stores to his hometown of Tulsa, Okla. In 1958, Burt convinced Chester Cadieux to invest in and operate the store they called QuikTrip. Decades of rapid expansion followed, and today QuikTrip operates more than 1,000 stores in 17 states. The company is known for its commitment to high-quality, standardized store formats and customer experiences with an emphasis on speed and service. In 2016, QuikTrip opened its first non-fuel store in 24 years in Midtown Atlanta. The company also introduced a mobile app in 2017 and since 2013 has placed a large emphasis on the made-to-order foodservice from its proprietary QT Kitchens.
