Chester’s International, the leading fried chicken foodservice offering in the convenience store category, has announced the grand opening of its Belvidere, Ill., restaurant inside the Road Ranger Travel Plaza on Belvidere Road.

The grand opening marks the third of many in a newly established partnership between Road Ranger convenience stores and Chester’s, the company said.

The grand opening was held July 11, and included a guest appearance by Chester’s mascot, Chester the Chicken, who was on site throughout the day at Road Ranger to participate in the ribbon-cutting ceremony and photos with customers.

The Belvidere Road Ranger will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, all through Chester’s signature menu options including Chester’s fried bone-in chicken, chicken tenders, potato wedges and biscuits. This newest Chester’s is co-branded with Subway and will offer its customers dine-in, carryout, and catering options, the company said.

“Beep Beep…Move over – here we grow again,” said James Venable, director of store operations at Chester’s International. “We are excited to add Chester’s Fresh Fried Chicken inside another Road Ranger.”

Headquartered in Rockford, Ill, Road Ranger is a leading Midwest convenience store chain with annual revenues of about $850 million. Its stores operate under the Road Ranger banner and are located in Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin.

Chester’s International is an emerging leader in quick-service restaurant concepts, with more than 1,500 Chester Fried licensed and Chester’s franchised locations.
