The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) named Chevron and Exxon Mobil Corporation among America’s Top Corporations for Women’s Business Enterprises for providing growth opportunities to women business owners, in February.
The WBENC’s annual listing is the only national award honoring corporations for world-class programs that create level playing fields for women’s business enterprises to compete for corporate contracts.
This is the 10th time Chevron has won the award for its Supplier Diversity program, which helps female-owned minority-owned and small businesses strengthen their ability to compete for company contracts. In 2009, Chevron spent approximately $433 million with women-owned businesses in the U.S.
The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council is a leading advocate for Women’s Business Enterprises as suppliers and vendors to the nation’s corporations.

Recipients of America’s Top Corporations for Women’s Business Enterprises are selected following a rigorous evaluation process. Any Corporate Member of WBENC can apply, and every applicant, whether selected for the award or not, receives personalized feedback on its application that can be invaluable in acquiring best practices or enhancing its supplier diversity program.
