redsoxCITGO customers can help underserved children in the Boston area by fueling up at CITGO Spirit Pumps.

CITGO has been named a “Proud Partner of the Boston Red Sox” for the 2016 baseball season. CITGO will feature customized, co-branded activations at more than 400 CITGO stations in the New England area and in the Fenway Park stadium.

Rallying consumers and trade partners, the CITGO stations will be sporting red and navy beginning in early May, with Red Sox and CITGO co-branded creative, including pump toppers, exterior signage, in- store materials, fun consumer giveaways, employee accessories and much more.

Through the CITGO mobile app, consumers will have the opportunity to enroll in Club CITGO for the chance to win baseball-themed rewards and prizes. During each Red Sox home game, attending fans will also be encouraged to participate through video board promotions to join Club CITGO.

“For decades, the iconic CITGO sign in Kenmore Square has been linked to the Red Sox and Fenway Park,” said Red Sox executive vice president of partnerships, Troup Parkinson. “Through this new partnership, we are pleased to formalize that connection, and look forward to celebrating the relationship throughout the season.”

In July, CITGO will also be launching its Boston Red Sox Spirit Pump initiative. At participating CITGO locations in the Boston area, a gas pump will be designated as the Red Sox Spirit Pump. Each time a consumer pumps gas from July through October at these specified pumps, a portion of the proceeds from the sale will be donated to the Red Sox Foundation, benefitting underserved children in the Boston community.

The Spirit Pump initiative is just one way that CITGO and its local Marketers and Retailers are hitting a home run with the CITGO Fueling Good program, which encourages everyone in communities like Boston to get involved and share the responsibility for improving the lives of others.
