A Loaf ‘N Jug convenience store in Walensburg, Colo., has had its liquor license suspended after state authorities allegedly saw an employee sell beer to an 18-year-old.
During routine compliance checks in October, the state Liquor Enforcement Division sent an under-aged person into 13 restaurants, bars, liquor and convenience stores in Huerfano County to try and purchase alcoholic beverages. All of the establishments passed the check except for the Loaf ‘N Jug.
The Loaf ‘N Jug in Colorado City, which was checked on the same day, passed its compliance check, according to the Pueblo (Colo.) Chieftain.
Beginning Feb. 1, the Walsenburg store will not carry beer on its shelves for 30 days. After that time, the store will be allowed to sell beer again, although the state may add an additional 15 days to that suspension if any additional incidents occur during that suspension period. The company will not have to pay fines.
During that same month in Southeastern Colorado, 11 establishments failed compliance checks.
