Avsha Klachuk will be recognized on May 1 for his service and dedication to the petroleum industry.

Conexxus, the convenience and petroleum retail technology and standards organization, announced that Avsha Klachuk will be inducted in the Conexxus Hall of Fame for his service and dedication to the petroleum industry.

Klachuk began his career in 1983 as a service manager for an Israeli petroleum equipment company, taking on various positions in the industry until the Israeli-based Alon petroleum company brought him to the U.S. in 2001 as director of marketing technology.

In his 16 years based in the U.S., Klachuk oversaw numerous wireless technology marketing innovations and dedicated his services to PCATS and Conexxus missions. He has served in many leadership roles within Conexxus and is highly regarded for his tireless dedication to driving membership engagement.

“Avsha has been highly engaged in our segment since the early 1980s, in his native Israel and U.S. markets,” said Gray Taylor, executive director.  “He has driven retail systems from their decidedly analog roots to the very sophisticated systems we operate with today.  At each step, Avsha was a fervent advocate for open data exchange standards, first with PCATS and then Conexxus, that kept the industry vital and profitable.”

Klachuk attended the Israeli Air Force School; the University of Haifa where he received a degree in Business; and Tel Aviv University, where he focused on Microprocessors in the School of Engineering.

He moved back to Israel in 2016 and retired from Alon. He now consults on digital marketing projects within the industry.

Hall of Fame inductees are selected through submissions to the Conexxus Nominating Committee and are selected on the basis of their engagement and impact in delivering the Conexxus mission to the industry.

The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Reception will take place May 1 at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel in Nashville, Tenn.
