The designation was awarded by the 2025 Mass Save Climate Leaders.

Cumberland Farms was recently included on the Sponsors of Mass Save’s 2025 list of Mass Save Climate Leaders, which recognizes and honors 18 entities across Massachusetts for their ongoing efforts to curb energy use, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and guide the Commonwealth to a net-zero future.

Cumberland and the other honorees will be recognized in a ceremony at the Massachusetts State House on Wednesday, Oct. 15.

The 2025 Mass Save Climate Leaders represent a wide range of industries and sectors, including grocery, education, healthcare, municipalities and more.

“Each honoree has shown a deep commitment to addressing the climate crisis by taking significant measures toward a sustainable future through energy efficient upgrades,” Mass Save noted in a statement. “Through those measures, this cohort avoided CO2 emissions equivalent to the energy use of more than 7,400 homes for one year or more than 61.6 million pounds of coal burned.”

The 2025 cohort of Climate Leaders is helping Massachusetts lead the nation in energy efficiency, reducing environmental impacts and increasing energy savings. Each honoree exemplifies how environmentally conscious actions by businesses, municipalities and other leaders help the Commonwealth realize an equitable, affordable energy future.
