A new DK c-store hosts local 17-year-old Make-A-Wish recipient.
Delek US, which owns Big Spring refinery and multiple convenience stores in the Midland-Odessa, Texas area, gave 17-year-old Make-A-Wish recipient Audrey the VIP treatment on Tuesday at its newest DK convenience store.
After arriving by limo to the new store, Audrey and her family were greeted by a cheering crowd of DK employees, the Make-A-Wish team and community members. Audrey was named the official Delek Wish Ambassador, an honor that includes having a DK frozen drink named after her—the “Audrey’s Aloha” is a delicious blue raspberry flavor. Festivities also included a mini shopping spree inside the new store, giving Audrey the chance to stock up on her favorite snacks and drinks. To end the day, Audrey’s family participated in a scavenger hunt activity to collect DK gift cards and other prizes.

“Playing even a small role in creating an unforgettable experience for Audrey was an honor for myself and the Delek team. Audrey is a fighter, and we wanted to make sure she knew she had the support of the entire Delek family during this time,” said Tony Miller, executive vice president of Delek US. “Our local communities are important to us as a company, and we’re thankful to Make-A-Wish and Audrey’s family for letting us celebrate her today.”
Audrey is undergoing treatments for leukemia and has demonstrated a spirit of resiliency throughout her journey to beat cancer. In January, Make- A-Wish granted her wish of traveling to the Disney resort in Hawaii and sightseeing on the islands.
“These celebrations never get old,” said Tabatha Gonzalez-Olaechea, vice president of corporate partnerships for Make-A-Wish north Texas. “We couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to partner with companies like Delek US to host enhancements.”
Audrey’s homecoming celebration was held at the first convenience store under the DK moniker, the new name for convenience stores owned by Delek US. The store, which opened earlier this year, is located at 5801 W Interstate Hwy 20, Midland, Texas 79706.
Delek’s convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 280 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico. Delek owns several Alon branded convenience stores in the Midland-Odessa region, and the first store under the new DK brand opened in early 2019.
