New Groupon offer encourages repeat business and customer loyalty.
Drop Tank has announced the launch of a new fuel discount offer with Groupon. The new Groupon offer allows customers to purchase a gift card for $40 which allows them to take 10-cents off per gallon of gas for 100 gallons, giving the gift card a $50 value.
The initial Groupon offer launched in the Indianapolis market, and consists of five CentsOff Marathon Gift Cards.
CentsOff Marathon Gift Cards are swiped prior to payment at participating Marathon gas stations and instantly drop the price. Each card delivers 100 gallons of discounts across multiple transactions and they never expire. The fuel discount cards drive loyalty because each results in numerous return visits to participating Marathon locations. In fact, these new cards are believed to be the first fuel discount cards that can drop the price instantly at the pump within the U.S.
“Our cards make great gifts because dropping the price at the pump is fun and everyone appreciates saving on gas,” said David VanWiggeren, CEO of Drop Tank. “Working with Groupon is a natural fit because Groupon customers know a good deal when they see one.”
Drop Tank offers fuel discount products as physical cards or digital codes. Cards can be co-branded, allowing anyone to customize with their own designs. Codes can be ordered online or integrated into any existing loyalty or engagement platform through a web service API. Both cards and codes are available in a variety of cents-off-per-gallon denominations, either as single-use promotions (up to 20 gallons) or multi-use gifts (100 gallons).
