Pilot Flying J reopens in El Paso, Texas with many amenities for travelers and truckers in the area.

Pilot Flying J recently reopened the newly remodeled Flying J Travel Plaza in El Paso, Texas. Featuring full amenities for professional drivers and the motoring public, the travel plaza is located at 1301 North Horizon Blvd.

The 13,971-square-foot travel plaza features six fuel islands, 12 diesel islands, a restaurant and a wide variety of convenience items. The facility features high-speed fuel pumps that provide faster flow so customers can refuel quickly.

“We hope that El Paso area residents and fleet customers will enjoy the convenience and amenities of our newly remodeled Flying J Travel Plaza,” said Jimmy Haslam, president and CEO of Pilot Flying J. “The plaza will serve this community through products and services as well as contribute to the local economy through jobs and tax revenue. And we’ll fill the needs of those carrying goods to communities across the nation.”

The Flying J in El Paso is part of the network of more than 550 travel centers and travel plazas in the Pilot Flying J family, which serves more than 1.3 million customers every day across the U.S. and Canada.

The El Paso location includes a Denny’s restaurant; clean restrooms; pay phones; fax and copy services; Western Union; a UPS drop box; an ATM; check cashing services; lottery and Lotto tickets; an arcade area; general merchandise for professional drivers and highway travelers; an RV dump station; and bulk propane.

“We believe our familiar Flying J sign will be a welcome sight for interstate travelers and professional drivers,” said Raul Sierra, general manager for the El Paso location. “(Travelers will) want to pull off to fill up, refresh and sample some of our featured food items. Our premium hot beverages include gourmet specialty coffees from all over the world as well as Pilot’s house coffee, which was named the ‘Best Coffee on the Interstate’ by the readers of Truckers News. We also have a variety of fountain drinks, fresh brewed tea, iced coffees and frozen drinks.”

The El Paso Flying J features a full hot and cold deli featuring fresh-made salads, double bacon cheeseburgers, Pepperoni’s handmade Italian pizza and Oscar Mayer hot dogs as well as fresh cold condiments for grill items including jalapeño slices, onions and banana peppers, said Sierra.

In addition to diesel fuel, professional drivers will have access to such services as a CAT scale, laundry services, 11 automated showers and 120 parking spaces for trucks. The El Paso location also features a driver kiosk, so professional drivers can get in and out of the store quickly and be on their way.

As with all other Pilot Flying J locations, the El Paso Flying J honors the new Frequent Fueler Advantage card and continues to honor points accumulated on the Frequent Fueler, RV Real Value Card and Driver Payback cards. Pilot and Flying J merged last year, and both brands are still available on U.S. highways.

The Pilot Flying J, headquartered in Knoxville, Tenn., operates more than 550 locations in North America.
