Family Express has officially opened its first modularized, masonry building in Ligonier, Ind.
The grand opening began with Family Express employees handing out fresh carnations to delighted customers. The public was then treated to their choice of food from the proprietary Cravin’s-To-Order kitchen and a complementary car wash.
“We are in the business of building relationships with communities, co-workers and the public. When we open our doors in a community that is not familiar with our legacy of customer service, we give them a sample of our overall engagement to underline our assertion that we are not a gas station,” said Gus Olympidis, president and CEO of Family Express Corp.
This is the first of four Family Express stores that are scheduled to open before the end of the year, and a part of the company’s 50th anniversary celebration.
Family Express was founded in Valparaiso in 1975, and today it operates 81 stores throughout Indiana.
The retailer is characterized by a unique labor force that it calls the “Living Brand.” The company screens 50 prospects in search of each right person.
