fda-logo1Video focuses on legal age requirements and ID checks when selling tobacco products.

The Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Center for Tobacco Products’ (CTP) Office of Compliance and Enforcement (OCE), in an effort to further retailer compliance with tobacco product regulation, has produced a short educational video to support retailer training.

The video focuses on two key requirements retailers must follow when selling regulated tobacco products.  Specifically, the video educates the viewer about the legal requirements prohibiting the sale of regulated tobacco products to anyone under the age of 18 and to check customer date of birth using a valid photo ID at point of sale for those under 27.

In addition, the video communicates the public health benefits of following these requirements.
