More than 100 vendors and storeowners were on hand last week to participate in the 7-Eleven Franchise Owners Association of Chicagoland (FOAC) annual trade show in St. Charles, Ill.

Franchise owners came together to discuss goals for the future and the state of the economy, as well as sample new products to enhance their convenience offering.

Attendees listened to presentations on consumer trends and how to face the economic challenges affecting today’s market.

“Consumer need is a moving target. It changes everyday. Effective retailers can anticipate it and move fast,” said Raj Kapoor, vice president, Great Lakes Division at 7-Eleven Inc., as he addressed the room of franchise owners about viewing change as an opportunity to grow.

After the morning presentations, attendees headed onto the trade show floor to test out some of the new products available. They also had the opportunity to try out the new 7-Eleven FOAC Web site, which is set to become the major communication tool of the FOAC.

According to the FOAC, this this year’s event was the largest and most successful to date.
