As fuel prices remain low, one city in Kansas is selling fuel for 99 cents per gallon.
Midwestern fuel supplies are currently at the highest point since 1993, and fuel prices are fluctuating accordingly, as one city in Kansas has become the first to report gasoline prices lower than $1 per gallon.
According to a report from the Milwaukee Wisconsin Journal Sentinel, Nusser Oil in Jetmore, Kan. was recently offering regular gasoline for 99 cents a gallon.
The current national average is $1.70 per gallon, which is 22% lower than last year at this time, but, according to the Milwaukee Wisconsin Journal Sentinel, nearly one-third of U.S. retail stations are selling fuel for less than $1.50.
Kansas is currently reporting a statewide average of $1.45 per gallon, which is a 28-cent drop from last month.
The Milwaukee Wisconsin Journal Sentinel also reported that refiners are buying crude oil for as little as $15 per barrel.
