FuelQuest Inc., an on-demand software and services company for the global downstream energy industry, said it has appointed Srini Achukola as Chief Technology Officer for its fuel management business.

With more than 20 years of commercial and enterprise information technology experience, Achukola brings a unique combination of knowledge in retail, freight and logistics to FuelQuest, the company said.

He will direct the software development, quality assurance and managed services teams for FuelQuest’s fuel management business.

“We are continually investing in top talent to expand the value of FuelQuest’s solutions to our customers,” said Matt Tormollen, president and CEO at FuelQuest. “Derived from years of solving complex supply chain challenges through technology-enabled solutions, Srini’s expertise will enable us to strengthen our offerings and enhance the effectiveness of our global fuel management network and services.”

Achukola joins FuelQuest from KLC International, a $2.5 billion global retail operations software and services provider. As vice president of IT at KLC, he was responsible for all applications and systems infrastructure. Previously he was global vice president of IT at Business Objects Inc., a market leader in business intelligence software and services, and vice president of infrastructure and applications at Consolidated Freightways.

“I am excited about the opportunity to bring my technology, business process and subject domain expertise to the FuelQuest team,” Achukola said. “Having direct experience as both a customer and provider of supply chain solutions in the retail, freight and logistics sectors enables me to better translate customers needs and opportunities into valuable, cost-effective offerings. I look forward to collaborating with FuelQuest’s team, customers and partners as we expand our network, platform and services.”
