New eatery features gasoline discounts with food purchases.

Cousins Subs Systems Inc. recently unveiled the opening of its new store in Glendale Heights, Ill. The store, which officially opened Aug. 13, will celebrate its grand opening on Oct. 13. The store is owned by George Hartnett.

“We are pleased to have George Hartnett opening his first store,” said Kerry Espich, manager of franchise sales and recruitment for Cousins Subs. “He is an integral part of the Cousins Subs team and we look forward to the new store’s success.”

The new store structure will feature both the sandwich shop and a gas station. Hartnett, an Illinois native, has been in the gas station and convenience store business for nearly 21 years. Cousins Subs patrons will be able to get a discount on their gas when they make a sandwich purchase.

“I am very excited to be opening up my own branch of Cousins Subs. I knew I needed to diversify my business endeavors,” Hartnett said. “I saw Cousins Subs as the perfect way to attract new customers and give my business the edge that it needed.”
