Stores in Coolsville and Tuppers Plains expand GoMart’s presence in Ohio.

Cool Spot gasoline stations and convenience stores in Coolsville and Tuppers Plains, Ohio have been sold to GoMart for nearly $5 million, Athens Ohio Today Online reported.

Records in Athens County Auditor’s Office noted that Bryan White sold the Cool Spot business—which includes a gas station, c-store and restaurant—in Coolville, Ohio for $3 million, with $1.6 million of that total for the building and land.

Terry Smith, marketing director for Gassaway, W. Va.-based GoMart told Athens Ohio Today Online that the restaurant will continue to operate.

Meanwhile, the Tuppers Plains Cool Spot location—which includes a gas station, c-store and hot deli—was sold by Cool Country Corp. for $1.95 million, with $1.04 million of that for the building and land. White is the president of Cool Country Corp.

White could not be reached for comment Wednesday.

Employees at the two locations were asked to stay.

The Cool Spot purchases mark the latest expansion by GoMart into Ohio. In 2012, GoMart purchased three Crossroads gasoline station/convenience stores in Athens County as well as a gasoline station/convenience store at Rockbridge in Hocking County.
