The app will display the number of ports available as well as location, charging speeds, reviews and photos.

Google Maps will now show real-time availability of charging stations for electric vehicles (EV) on desktop, iOS, Android, and Android Auto in the U.S. and the U.K.

The app will display the number of ports available as well as location, charging speeds, reviews and photos.

Google will begin displaying EV charging stations from Chargemaster, EVgo and SemaConnect, with Chargepoint coming “soon,” Google Maps product manager Alex Donaldson wrote in a blog post.

The EV market is growing quickly, but charging infrastructure is one of its biggest obstacles.

“If you’ve ever driven to an electric vehicle charging station only to find that all ports are occupied, you know that you could end up waiting in line for anywhere between minutes to hours — which can really put a damper on your day when you have places to go and things to do,” said Donaldson.
