Holiday Stationstores, which operates approximately 300 corporately-owned stores and more than 100 franchise stores throughout 10 states in the Midwest and West Coast regions, acquired seven of its rival SuperAmerica’s convenience stores in Rochester, according to a report by The Rochester Post-Bulletin.
Holiday had reportedly closed two of the former SuperAmerica stores and rebranded five as its own.
“We are very pleased to build the Holiday brand in the Rochester community,” said Brent Blackey, president and chief operating officer, said, according to the Rochester newspaper. “As part of our plan to expand our brand, we plan to build additional stores in Rochester.”
The employees of the converted SuperAmerica stores became Holiday employees after the rebranding, according to the newspaper.
The recent purchases expand on acquisitions that Holiday made in September 2011, when it bought out 15 fuel centers in Minnesota from Eden Prairie-based Supervalu.
As of November 2012, Forbes ranked Holiday as the 101st largest private company in the country with $3.9 billion in revenue and 5,000 employees.
