Huck’s Convenience Stores’ “Karing for Kids” fundraising program has donated $288,000 to help assist children in the local markets of its 107 stores, the Evansville Courier & Press reported.

The program is now in its seventh year of providing funds to allow children to Christmas shop for themselves and their families.

Huck’s stores, its corporate office and distribution center administer the program on a local basis to ensure the funds are used to assist local families. Fundraising initiatives include corporate sponsorships, rummage and bake sales, as well as other fundraisers.

Based in Carmi, Ill., Huck’s Convenience Stores operates locations in Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Kentucky and Tennessee.
