Lit Light BulbToday’s idea of the day:

Utilize shelf tags and other signage to identify EBT-approved products. Electronic Benefit Transfer, or EBT, is used in all states to issue food stamp benefits to recipients. Recipients are issued an “EBT Card” similar to a bank ATM or debit card to receive and use their food stamp and cash benefits. Many items around the convenience store, including bread, cereal, dairy items and fruit are eligible. But many retailers may not realize that soft drinks, candy, cookies, snack crackers, seeds and nuts and ice cream are food items and are therefore eligible items for EBT. Mark these items accordingly and you could not only increase sales in these categories, but gain a significant amount of repeat business.
