Donation to help fund milk vouchers for families.

Jiffy Mart and football punter Sam Koch teamed up at John Street Quarters from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on July 9 in Westminster, Md. to help raise both funds and awareness for Carroll County Food Sunday.

Baltimore Football fans came out in full force to see of their favorite punter, with more than 200 people attending the event.

During the event, the Jiffy Mart Team presented Carroll County Food Sunday with $1,100 to help fund 275 milk vouchers for families.

Carroll County Food Sunday helps over 600 families in need within the county.  The organization provides milk vouchers for families and over 60% of these vouchers are redeemed at Jiffy Mart locations.  “The cost of a gallon of milk is around $4, Sam’s number is No. 4, so we decided anyone coming in on that evening and sponsoring a milk voucher could then have an item signed by Sam,” said Tom Moser, general manager.

“People starting lining up at 4 p.m. and turnout from the community was huge,” said Dwayne Cover, business manager.

“It was amazing and felt great teaming up with Jiffy Mart and Tevis Oil to help that many people,” added Koch.

Those in attendance were also greeted by the Ravens Mascot Poe, as well as Captain Dee Fense and the Baltimore Birdman.  As an added treat, Martins Chips, UTZ Chips and Canada Dry provided samples to those in line while WTTR did a live remote and gave everyone a chance to win with a spin-their-prize wheel.

Jiffy Mart is next planning to participate in the First Annual Baltimore Summer Football Festival being held on Saturday, Aug. 18 at the Ag Center in Westminster.   Tickets for this event will be sold at each Jiffy Mart location. At the event, Jiffy Mart plans to sell Baltimore football related t-shirts and bobbleheads.  A portion of the ticket sales and Jiffy Mart items sold during the event will again benefit Carroll County Food Sunday.

Jiffy Mart currently operates four stores in Carroll County, Md. Two locations are in Westminster, one in Finksburg and one in Hampstead.
