Kangaroo Express, operated by The Pantry Inc., announced it will invite customers in more than 100 Kangaroo Express convenience stores throughout the Chattanooga, Cleveland, Nashville, Huntsville and north Georgia areas to participate in its third-annual “Kash for Kids” campaign in support of Junior Achievement USA, a non-profit organization that brings the real world to students through hands-on curriculum delivered by a trained classroom volunteer.

Now through Jan. 7, 2015, Kangaroo Express will rally store guests in 107 Kangaroo Express convenience stores across Tennessee, Alabama and North Georgia to make donations in support of the Kash for Kids fundraiser, encouraging the local community to help young people learn the importance of staying in school and develop the competitive skills and confidence needed to succeed in the 21st-century global marketplace.

Junior Achievement is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young people to own their economic success. The volunteer-driven programs inspire work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills and impact 4 million U.S. students in more than 176,000 classrooms.

“Kangaroo Express is committed to supporting students through dedicated organizations like Junior Achievement,” said Chris Hughes, regional director, Kangaroo Express. “Last year, generous donations from our store guests helped provide youth all across communities in Tennessee, Alabama and north Georgia with the opportunity to benefit from real life, hands-on experience. For the third year in a row, we’re honored to support our local community through the Kash for Kids program.”

Donations raised in Catoosa, Grundy, Hamilton, Marion, Rhea, Sequatchie and Walker counties will directly benefit Junior Achievement of Chattanooga. Donations raised in Bedford, Coffee, Davidson, Putnam, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson and Wilson counties will directly benefit Junior Achievement of Middle Tennessee. Donations raised in Bradley, McMinn, Meigs, Polk and Monroe counties will directly benefit Junior Achievement of the Ocoee Region. Donations raised in Colbert, Dekalb, Madison, Marshall, Morgan, Jackson and Lauderdale counties will directly benefit Junior Achievement of Greater Birmingham.

“With the steadfast support of Kangaroo Express, Junior Achievement offices throughout the region are able to provide our kindergarten through 12th grade students with opportunities to better prepare for their futures,” said Renee Penney, special events director, Junior Achievement of Chattanooga. “We look forward to the tremendous impact for the benefit of more than 48,000 students in our local schools as a result of this valuable partnership.”
