Kangaroo Express, operated by The Pantry Inc. announced that 10 stores in the Piedmont-Triad area now feature new store offerings and upgraded appearances as part of the “New at the Roo” program, including updated Bean Street Coffee offers and a broader assortment of fresh foods.

To celebrate its investment in local Piedmont-Triad communities, Kangaroo Express stores throughout the area will be celebrating with special offers, fun family activities, and a total of $10,000 in donations to local schools, including Vandalia Elementary School, East Forsyth High School Band, Surry Central High School Band and Smith High School Band.

Guests who visit Kangaroo Express stores enjoy a fast, friendly and clean store environment. As part of the “New at the Roo” program, participating stores will feature upgraded Bean Street Coffee dispensers, designed to preserve the freshness of the coffee. The spacious serving stations will have upgraded coffee accessories, including a wide variety of coffee flavors and additions such as extra boosts of caffeine and whipped topping, allowing guests to customize their cup of Bean Street Coffee.

“Investing to bring new offers to our Piedmont-Triad area stores is just one part of Kangaroo Express’ commitment to local Piedmont-Triad communities,” said Kevin Portis, regional sales director at Kangaroo Express. “We invite the community to bring their Bean Street Coffee Roo Mugs to join us for fun family celebrations and experience what’s new at The Roo to better serve the on-the-go needs of our Piedmont-Triad guests.”

In addition to improved Bean Street Coffee, guests at participating stores will be able to enjoy newly offered iced tea and a broader assortment of fresh pastries for on-the-go breakfast and snacks. The new bakery case features glazed doughnuts, which are almost 40% larger than well-known brands, donut-holes, muffins, cheese Danishes and more.

Guests can take advantage of month-long specials and promotions, including coupons valid at all participating Kangaroo Express locations across the Piedmont-Triad area.

Celebration events will be held weekly at select Kangaroo Express stores from 4-6 p.m., featuring fun family activities.

A “New at the Roo” celebration on Oct. 25 at the 1115 Randolph St. Kangaroo Express in Thomasville will include a $2,500 check donation to the Smith High School Band, helping to purchase band uniforms and to fund band camp. Guests will also enjoy 25-cent hot dogs from 3-5 p.m.

The East Forsyth High School Band will receive a $2,500 donation on Oct. 25 at the 2010 W. Mountain St. Kangaroo Express in Kernersville during its “New at the Roo” celebration. Donated funds will help repair band instruments and purchase new music and instruments for students in need. The celebration will feature great deals and family fun, including 25-cent hot dogs from 11 a.m.–1 p.m.

Celebrations continue on Nov. 8 at the 170 Pleasant Garden Road Kangaroo Express in Greensboro with a $2,500 check presentation to Vandalia Elementary School, helping to purchase school supplies for students in need. The celebration will also feature great deals for the whole family to enjoy, including 25-cent hot dogs from 3-5 p.m.

The Pleasant Garden Road store now features an Aunt M’s Kitchen, an exclusive quick-service restaurant concept found only at Kangaroo Express stores. The restaurant offers guests a taste of home cooking with a variety of on-the-go breakfast, lunch and dinner options, including seasoned fried chicken, fresh sandwiches and biscuits, hearty sides and warm desserts.

Guests can enjoy Aunt M’s Kitchen with savings all month long, including 50 percent off select breakfast items on Oct. 25-31, 10% off with military I.D. on Nov. 1-7 and a free kids meal with the purchase of a combo meal from 5-7 p.m. on Nov. 12 and Nov. 14.

Piedmont-Triad residents are also invited to join the final celebration on Nov. 15 at the 2372 Zephyr Road Kangaroo Express in Dobson, featuring a $2,500 check presentation to the Surry Central High School Band, helping to purchase new music and instruments. Guests can also enjoy 25-cent hot dogs from 3-5 p.m.

The renovations to these stores are prime examples of the investments Kangaroo Express is making in its communities across the Southeastern U.S., including plans to open more quick-serve restaurants in stores and remodel more than 70 stores.

The Pantry’s Kangaroo Express operates 1,559 stores in 13 states under select banners, including its primary operating banner Kangaroo Express.
