Kroger’s Turkey Hill Minit Markets division has opened its first Turkey Hill Market, a larger version of its c-store concept, at 1621 Cobblestone Way in Marysville, Ohio. The new store is meant to represent a contemporary version of a corner grocery, Columbus Business First reported.
The store measures 6,800 square feet, almost 75% larger than the typical 4,000-square-foot Turkey Hill. The new location strives to be more like a grocery store with wider product selection, fresh produce and meat, while still providing the grab-and-go items customers expect from a convenience store. Breakfast, lunch and dinner menus with build-your-own bistro-style sandwiches, wraps, bowl, fried chicken and pizza, greet hungry customers.
The store features 16 fuel pumps and will be open 24-7.
The chain plans to build more Turkey Hill Markets and remodel some existing stores in central Ohio, but no specifics have been revealed.
Lancaster, Pa.-based Turkey Hill operates more than 270 stores in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana. Kroger brought Turkey Hill to central Ohio in 2009.
