Kum&GosquareNew convenience store in Maumelle features fresh food and sustainable practices.

Kum & Go is set to open a new, 5,000-square-foot convenience store on Friday, Sept. 6, in Maumelle, Ark.

This new store, located at 21510 Highway 365 North, is part of the company’s aggressive growth strategy in the Little Rock metropolitan area.

The new store is designed to provide a convenient shopping experience for customers. Inside, the expanded “Go Fresh Market” offers a broad selection of products, including made-to-order pizzas, baked goods, breakfast and deli sandwiches—all made fresh daily at Kum & Go’s on-site kitchen. Residents are invited to stop by the new store to sample many of these food options and grab $1 pizza slices during the first week the store is open. Outside, more fueling stations and a large variety in fuel offerings will give customers more choices and value at the pump.

“We work hard to deliver fast and friendly service to our customers,” said President and CEO Kyle Krause. “Our newest and more spacious store design that includes an on-site kitchen will provide our customers in Maumelle with a variety of quick and fresh food options.”

While customers save money as they fuel up, Kum & Go stores are also saving energy and water through their strong dedication to sustainable practices. Kum & Go designs and constructs the stores in accordance with rigorous LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification guidelines in mind. Sustainable features of this new Kum & Go store include Solatube skylights, LED lighting (both inside and outside the store), low-flow water efficient fixtures and high energy-efficiency equipment. Each store is built using recyclable materials and locally-sourced materials.

“Building more sustainable stores is just one of the many ways we live our commitment to being a responsible corporate citizen in the communities where we operate,” said Krause. “Another way is by donating 10% of our company’s profits each year to a variety of non-profit charitable organizations in the markets we serve. It’s our way of staying true to one of our most important core values—caring.”
