Program recognizes people who strive to make others’ lives better.

Living Essentials LLC, the distributor of 5-hour ENERGY shots, announced the national launch of the “5-hour ENERGY Helps Amazing People program,” which recognizes outstanding people who, despite their own challenges, give their time and energy to make the lives of others better.

Those who are selected receive $50,000 and are also featured in a weekly online video series that is heavily promoted on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/user/5hourENERGYHelps  and Facebook https://www.facebook.com/5HourEnergyShot, garnering tens of millions of views and significant exposure for their efforts, which are often aligned with nonprofit organizations.

“Why only pay celebrities or athletes? Why not give to the real heroes,” said Manoj Bhargava, founder, 5-hour ENERGY.  “5-hour ENERGY has always been about helping hard working people, and the Amazing People program takes this further by making a significant difference in the lives of those who are working through difficult circumstances.”

More than 20 individuals have been featured to date, with a total donation over $1 million.  Recipients include a victim of gang violence who provides a safe haven for teenagers in the most dangerous section of New Orleans; a mother with disabled sons who volunteers tirelessly for Easter Seals; a widow who has dedicated her life to taking in orphans in need; a former Bollywood actress who spent her life savings to help victims of domestic violence in Miami; a wildfire victim from Colorado Springs who lost her home yet continues to rescue puppies from mills; an Iraq War veteran with PTSD who assists those returning from service with getting back on their feet; among many others.

The company is supporting the program with a full-scale advertising campaign, which begins today and will run through the end of the year.

“5-hour ENERGY Helps believes that by sharing these inspirational stories, others will be motivated to give their time and energy to a worthy cause,” said Bhargava.
