The stores will be rebranded as Speedway in a deal expected to close by early summer.

Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC) plans to buy 33 NOCO Energy Corporation c-stores around Buffalo, New York, and rebrand them as Speedway, according to The Buffalo News.

The deal is expected to close in late spring or early summer, an anonymous source told the news outlet.

Buffalo, New York-based NOCO will remain active in its other energy-related businesses, according to The Buffalo News, which represent the roots of the family-owned business.

Findlay, Ohio-based MPC is the largest oil refiner in the U.S. with more than 3 million barrels per day of crude oil capacity across 16 refineries. MPC’s marketing system includes branded locations across the U.S., including Marathon brand retail outlets.

Speedway, an MPC subsidiary, owns and operates more than 4,000 locations in 21 states. In 2018, MPC bought 10 Buffalo-area Express Mart c-stores and converted them to the Speedway brand.
