Maverik already has begun construction on what will be its first gas station convenience store in the Carson City, Nev. area, the Nevada Appeal reported.

The store is being built at College Boulevard and Research Way, and is scheduled to open in December. The Carson City location will be more than 4,600 square feet, making it one of if not the biggest convenience store in the area.

But, the company isn’t stopping there. It plans to open a second location in nearby Dayton, Nev. at Highway 50 and Riverboat Road.

“We are looking forward to being in this area,” said Jason Keith, a real estate representative for Maverik, which has 200 locations in seven states. “We have an adventure/outdoor theme that we hope will go well with the market.”

Maverik, Inc. is owned and operated by the Call family from Wyoming, which formerly owned the Flying J truck stop chain, Keith told the Nevada Appeal.

Keith said that Maverik will be competitive with gas prices and offers the Adventure Club Card, which gives customers discounts on fuel and bonus points that can earn gift cards.

“It’s a little different than what is currently out there,” Keith said. “We know there is a lot of competition, but we feel we are a tad different.”
