McDonald’s Corp. has announced yet another initiative to help boost its U.S. sales, but this new project is a bit more intricate than a revamp of the menu.

According to a recent report from Investopedia, McDonald’s has announced that it will soon begin the rollout of its high-tech, futuristic restaurants across the country. This new store initiative has been dubbed the “Experience of the Future,” and the goal is to streamline operations by offering table service, mounted Samsung Galaxy tablets for placing orders and self-service kiosks in certain stores. McDonald’s hopes that, by creating a unique and exciting dining experience, “Experience of the Future” will boost sales in the U.S. The futuristic initiative has already been launched in a number of markets throughout the world, and it has been met with success thus far.

According to McDonald’s chief executive Stephen Easterbrook, more than half of the company’s restaurants have already been converted to the new format, and in the UK nearly 40% have become more high tech. Nearly 25% of stores in France feature the new format.

With customers responding well to the new upgrades in other parts of the world, McDonald’s has decided that it will soon be time to introduce the high tech concept in the U.S. However, according to Investopedia, no timeline has been given for the rollout of the first stores.
