The Hearts of Hope campaign raises record amount of donations from store customers.

In July, the Miller Oil Foundation distributed over $25,000 to charities in the Hampton Roads area.  The Foundation’s mission is to help people help themselves and those around them through the meaningful and enthusiastic involvement of the Miller family members, and staff and supporters of Miller’s (formerly referred to as Miller Oil Co.).  Through its annual fundraisers, the Foundation brings communities together to help others in need.

2013 Grant recipients included EdMarc Hospice for Children, Equi-Kids Therapeutic Riding Program, Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia, ForKids, and St. Mary’s Home.  The Silent Auction partner at this year’s Chairman’s Reception was The Peninsula Fine Arts Center’s Healing Arts Project.  And as part of the hands-on component of their grant giving effort, the Foundation will also be participating in the build of the 15th Bay St. homes funded by their grant to Habitat for Humanity of South Hampton Roads.

Without the support of Miller’s staff and supporters, this amazing accomplishment would not have been possible.  The Hearts of Hope campaign, which is run through Miller’s Neighborhood Markets in January and February, raised a record amount through participation of the stores’ loyal customers—more than double last year’s efforts.  The Foundation’s annual Charity Golf Classic and Chairman’s Reception are their largest fundraisers of the year, sponsored by Miller’s top vendors including Air-Serv, Coca Cola, JT Davenport, S & D Coffee, Southern Auto and Williams Mullin, among many others.
