Binghamton, N.Y.-based Mirabito Energy Products recently raised $60,000 through its March Mirabito Cares Round Up campaign, which will support local food banks and help fight hunger in the communities it serves.
Throughout the month of March, customers at all 109 Mirabito Convenience Store locations were invited to round up their purchases at checkout. Proceeds from the campaign benefited three regional food banks: the Food Bank of Central New York, the Food Bank of the Southern Tier and the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York. Each organization received $20,000 to further their mission of feeding individuals and families in need.
The impact of this campaign was significant — providing more than 200,000 meals across Mirabito’s service area. With every dollar raised, the food banks are able to increase purchasing power, improve food distribution and ensure access to nutritious items including proteins, produce, dairy and pantry staples.
Funds raised will benefit programs in specific counties aligned with Mirabito’s footprint, such as Chenango, Cortland, Herkimer, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga and Oswego through the Food Bank of Central New York; Broome, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, Tioga and Tompkins through the Food Bank of the Southern Tier; and Delaware, Otsego and Schoharie counties via the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York.
“We are so incredibly grateful for the partnership with Mirabito and the generosity of their customers. This fundraiser makes a difference for parents, children, families and older adults,” said Mark Bordeau, president and CEO of the Food Bank of the Southern Tier.
“The Food Bank of Central New York was thrilled to partner with Mirabito Convenience Stores to help raise awareness and funds in support of our work. This donation of $20,000, which is equivalent to providing 60,000 meals, will help the Food Bank distribute healthy and nutritious food — proteins, dairy, produce and pantry staples — throughout our 11-county service area to assist food insecure individuals and families,” said Lynn Hy, chief development officer from the Food Bank of Central New York. “Thank you to the entire Mirabito team and their customers for helping support our work in their community.”
“We are incredibly grateful to our customers and employees who participated in this campaign,” said Marissa Sweeney, director of marketing at Mirabito. “Supporting our neighbors in need is what Mirabito Cares is all about. Together, we are making a real difference in the fight against hunger.”
