NACS has teamed with Financial Marketing Concepts Inc. to offer a new member benefit that provides discount medical coverage for uninsured employees.
The program, Med Values Plus, helps NACS member companies provide discount medical coverage for uninsured employees at a fraction of the cost of insurance or limited/mini-medical plans. Plan members can save 10 to 60 percent at more than 700,000 participating providers. The employee’s entire family is covered under the plan and there are no exclusions of coverage or acceptance. These plans are not insurance.
For retailers and suppliers that do offer health coverage, the Med Values Plus plan contains benefits not usually found in customary health insurance, such as discounts on dental, vision, chiropractic, alternative medicine, 24-hour nurse hotline, wellness programs, fitness club discounts, vitamin discounts, a legal plan, hearing equipment and supply discounts, prescription cards, mail-order prescriptions, diabetes equipment and supply discounts and durable medical equipment discounts.
NACS member companies can also choose the Med Values Plus Gold plan, which includes the additional benefit of hospital and physician discounts.
The cost of the program is $8 per employee per month for the Med Values Plus Plan and $12.50 per employee per month for Med Values Plus Gold. This monthly fee can be paid by the member company or can be offered to employees on a voluntary enrollment basis.
